This exciting project will tell the story of what it was like to have a baby here in Worcester across the twentieth century and into the present, collecting new oral histories of experiences of motherhood in the city. By engaging with local medical history, we can begin to understand why and how certain medical practices have changed over time and what this means for the people using them.
This project will be co-produced with the George Marshall Medical Museum.
This project will launch in 2025, but you can read more about our plans here. If you’d like to be involved with the project, whether to share your own story, or as a volunteer, please get in touch with the Museum.
We will also be advertising for a Project Officer, based at the Museum, in late 2025.
